AI for Impact Networking Done Right

There are some cool organizations leveraging AI done right for impact networking, and it's exciting to see how this technology can actually enhance human connection rather than replace it. Over the past six months, I've been using Boardy.ai a lot and found it one of the best examples of AI done right for connecting with podcast guests, collaborators, startups, and fellow changemakers.

What makes AI networking powerful when done right
AI moves networking beyond the spray-and-pray approach. Instead of sending dozens of generic connection requests, AI analyzes compatibility, shared missions, and mutual value to suggest meaningful relationships. When applied thoughtfully, AI helps identify genuine alignment between people working toward similar goals in the impact space.

Why Boardy.ai stands out in this space

  • It acts as your personal connector, cutting through the noise to find relevant, high-quality introductions

  • The interface feels genuinely human—I was impressed by how natural the conversations felt

  • Andrew D'Souza and the team are constantly improving based on community feedback and remain transparent about their approach

  • Boardy remembers you and previous conversations, building genuine relationships over time

How it actually works
You connect with Boardy through LinkedIn messaging and describe your networking goals—whether you need a podcast guest, want to find collaborators, or seek mentorship opportunities. Boardy searches his network and suggests connections based on genuine alignment, always ensuring double-opt-in introductions that respect everyone's time. He can chat on the phone, LinkedIn messaging, and by email, and he'll even give you a call when you share your contact details.

Some honest critiques
While I love Boardy, it's not perfect. The platform is still early-stage, so you'll occasionally hit glitches or find the AI doesn't quite understand your specific request. Boardy may still hallucinate from time to time or forget things—it's one of the unique challenges they face building an autonomous and social AI persona. The network is growing but isn't massive yet, which can limit options in niche sectors. Sometimes the suggestions feel a bit generic, and like any AI tool, it requires clear, specific input to work well—vague requests often yield vague results.

The bigger picture
What excites me most is seeing AI used to amplify human potential rather than replace it. Social entrepreneurs and impact organizations are using AI for everything from grant writing to predictive analytics for social change. When applied thoughtfully, AI becomes a tool for building the equitable world we're all working toward.

Boardy is free right now, so give it a shot and see how it works for your networking goals. I'd love to hear about your experience—especially if you're using it to advance your own career of impact!
