Are the bots coming for your job?

The answer is both yes and no. The World Economic Forum's "Future of Jobs Report 2025" reveals that while AI and automation are set to transform the job market, they will also create new opportunities. Here's what you need to know:

  • AI's Growing Influence: A significant 86% of employers believe that advancements in AI and information processing will transform their businesses by 2030.

  • Job Market Shifts: Technological changes, including AI, are expected to lead to the creation of approximately 170 million new jobs and the displacement of about 92 million jobs by 2030, resulting in a net gain of 78 million jobs.

  • Emerging Roles: The rise of AI is driving demand for specialized roles such as AI and machine learning specialists, fintech engineers, and big data specialists, which are among the fastest-growing professions.

  • Skill Demand: Skills in AI and big data are projected to be among the fastest-growing, with employers increasingly seeking expertise in these areas to navigate the evolving technological landscape.

  • Workforce Strategies: In response to AI advancements, employers are prioritizing reskilling and upskilling initiatives to equip their workforce with the necessary competencies to thrive in an AI-integrated work environment.

At PCDN, we're committed to exploring these opportunities and challenges and particularly in the impact sector. It isn’t clear if we will have many good new jobs created, lots of part/time and gig jobs that create further instability for employees, and what will be the most interesting jobs and job titles for the future?
